V/A: This Is Cavite Not L.A.

A classic compilation released by Take Four. As I am browsing the old posts of La Cosa Nuestro I found about this but  to my surprise with another version of cover but the silk screened art in the cdr is the same. I bought my copy in Radiation Area. Talking about nostalgia, huh. I think this was the only recorded material of YFC (they rule most especially in live), Take Action, and A.O.D.

this photo is stolen from La Cosa Nuestro blogspot.
Here is the review of Joe taken from his fanzine Seven Inches To Freedom from the States. Obviously I've sent him a copy for something to trade with him. I also gave this a review from the first issue of RTC. But it's good to share what other people might say to this.

On the insert of this CD it says: "this CDshould serve to document the existing scene in Cavite (Philippines)...following the great tradition of classic comps such as "Flex Your Head," This Is Boston Not L.A."..." With that said this cd rules. It compiles six of the hardest, fastest bands Cavite has to offer. The CD starts with YFC, who play fastcore with crazy, screechy vocals. A.O.D. play half grindy, half sludgy HC. FRIENDSHIP 7 are next with some straight up old-school youthcrew-ish HC. FEUD deliver youthcrew and even a GORILLA BISCUITS cover. BACKFIST are my favorite on here playing some kung fu obsessed powerviolence. TAKE ACTION bring the noize with some old school skate thrash. All of the recordings are pretty bad, but that doesn't hide the sincerity. Another awesome thing is that all the bands have seriously good lyrics. It's neat to hear that the same shit sucks half way around the world, and that kids over there are as pissed as we are here. If you're a fan of international HC this is a killer document of a sincere group of kids that made a scene in  a place you probably didn't know existed.
